3. Drama

    7. The Sangomas, African traditions and medicine

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/da/Sangomas-greeting.jpg/640px-Sangomas-greeting.jpgSangomas access advice and guidance from the ancestors for their patients through channelling, throwing bones, or by interpreting dreams. In possession states, the sangoma works themselves into a trance through drumming, dancing and chanting, and allows their ego to step aside for an ancestor. The sangoma will provide specific information about the problems of the patient. Some sangomas speak to their patients through normal conversation, while others speak in tongues, or languages foreign to their patients, but all languages used by sangomas are indigenous Southern African languages depending on the specific ancestors being called upon. Not all sangomas follow the same rituals or beliefs.
Ancestral spirits can be the personal ancestors of the sangoma or the patient or they might be general ancestors associated with the geographic area or the community.[18] It is believed that the spirits have the power to intervene in people's lives who work to connect the sangoma to the spirits that are acting in a manner to cause affliction.[19] For example, a crab could be invoked as a mediator between the human world and the world of spirits because of its ability to move between the world of the land and the sea. Helping and harming spirits are believed to use the human body as a battle ground for their own conflicts. By using ngoma, the sangoma can create harmony between the spirits which results in the alleviation of the patient's suffering. (Wikipedia)

    8. Bert Herllinguer (Family Constellation) and the Zulu people

Resultado de imagen para Bert Hellinger and the Zulu peopleFamily Constellations is a therapeutic method which draws on elements of family systems therapy, existential phenomenology and Zulu forn South Africa attitudes to family. In a single session, a Family Constellation attempts to reveal a previously unrecognized systemic dynamic that spans multiple generations in a given family and to resolve the deleterious effects of that dynamic by encouraging the subject to accept the factual reality of the past.

Resultado de imagen para Bert Hellinger foto ZuluThe process draws from indigenous spiritual mysticism to contribute towards releasing tensions, lightening emotional burdens, and resolving real-world problems. Hellinger lived as a Roman Catholic priest in South Africa for 16 years in the 1950s and 1960s. During these years, he became fluent in the Zulu language, participated in their rituals, and gained an appreciation for their distinct worldview.
Of particular importance is the difference between traditional Zulu attitudes toward parents and ancestors and those typically held by Europeans. Heidegger postulated that to be human is to find oneself thrown into a world with no clear logical, ontological, or moral structure. In Zulu culture, Hellinger found a certitude and equanimity that were the hallmarks of Heidegger's elusive authentic Self. The traditional Zulu people lived and acted in a religious world in which the ancestors were the central focal point. The ancestors were regarded as positive, constructive, and creative presences. The connection with ancestors is a central feature of the Constellation process.

A comprehensive Education means an Education that considers, integrates and harmonizes at the same time all levels of development of the human being, e.i: physical, emotional, cognitive, aesthetical, ecologic, practical and inner development. An Integral Education is capable that way of assuring that the student will really flourish, will be able to help positively the society and will care for the Earth.

A child is like a flower: He has to blossom petal by petal, allowing the 100.000 thousands petals of the soul to unfold.
